THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:

# t. ]9 ^# j5 ?+ }0 N* L$ }8 xThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.

. Y$ Y; i, b9 R/ JAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:. I2 A: Z& Q( @8 N
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
N: t: c8 S y$ T•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education+ n0 _$ C5 [3 o+ @8 ?* p3 I# L
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
9 z) U6 z f; [' k/ c•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
/ I4 M* Y; o! w2 S$ n& e8 J•No prior Canadian work experience in their field& q/ F8 K, g. @
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less. Y" E1 r9 u6 `* a% V
•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks- Q0 G5 M' X- Y6 ]: ?( ~9 E3 @8 B3 K
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning5 j6 I, _ P/ G, C, A
Time Commitment' R; Z4 a! B! @' }, w' Z0 x4 n; [9 t
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.3 W3 |# T" A8 p! i( x7 ]
