24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS! e. e% E7 H# p% }. u8 H
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.$ p6 `3 w" D0 r) \
Eligibility Criteria
" q* W t) v% r5 K* [# WAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:( V9 b1 y/ Z$ t
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less$ ^) u/ i( ?5 ?3 D1 S
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education( \" {- s' C7 i9 d) ~8 V
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
I$ W" ]* U4 v' P I5 t5 j•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
, b3 B9 [0 O/ ~7 ?•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
1 U3 L! U5 ~7 I( j( _) A•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
d, y8 Y# {# S/ P- S5 o. d•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks9 T. T' L& D$ U% d1 K
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

! h, _) o* ?2 Q/ GThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.2 d k# ?" b& ^
