This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.2 B# k* A+ g. k# P* ]: m$ j% K
Eligibility Criteria, k b+ l7 F1 _0 ~
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
/ F; u) U% I1 K5 k+ E: }* d3 y•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less) ?) [2 s& l- h' S' S
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
' X" n/ Y# r; R•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English5 R2 [- M, d7 X4 k
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
- |6 d6 U9 A6 |) O k1 _& M" Q•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
+ |/ f+ Y$ z# h Q+ n•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less0 O6 J2 o# {2 |) ?7 f8 H: }
•Be eligible to work in Canada4 A0 b, U" C( q
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop

Time Commitment& @0 O9 ?- \ _6 x' D8 @% L. K
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
