, ]; i( K8 R1 m' Y: c# b6 D3 QCHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.- z1 e3 R1 w3 ~  e

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.& y# a9 Q' c+ V3 e

• Complete data entry in various programs.

) ^# L6 n$ |% U/ b. U, Q& ]• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

$ D) F4 Z  b9 H2 {* o  {1 I• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

7 q! h' I/ m( q8 f8 r" b• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

• Support effective internal communication by recording and distributing all meeting minutes.

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.4 }1 C7 p6 H. _, z* N6 P

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:) g- s# J. ?/ s- l, U

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.! l# A8 \7 _" L9 x; C3 d8 ^% _/ l- s( @

. R8 i. Q  P; O* h2 d  z2 U7 d* {• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA./ n, G4 @& u4 }7 n2 Q, d; O

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

% c" D) z7 g% N' F# M5 {• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.% z2 d' X' Y: r0 N5 a

0 [( p* ~7 }, Q0 a) C( k• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

! j$ o! k$ G2 C8 H  I) T% Q• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.0 _& c' R" r. o- n

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions# H( }, I1 N$ G7 z& n! U+ M

: e  Z; @0 o5 U% o0 p• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

+ w% h, B% T  {6 Y: E5 ^$ X" W• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.% a5 [1 V1 I" d% c: {( c

; `$ x* v6 r9 F& D• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Starting salary is $18/ hour with benefits to be negotiated upon hire. Position will commence on November 01, 2009.
