Police arrest two men after complaint of smelly truck carrying 1,500 pot plants

. @* s) Z" y. t7 z+ ~. D3 o' nPolice say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.% k6 \: B; m F( J& d# |# b
. ]" n2 f+ S$ N. ~& e: y% ^$ xOfficers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van.

Police say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.

, b& Q7 R( l6 SRoughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking have been laid against Dihn Xuan Luu, 44 and Deng Xuan Dihn, 51. |
