Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 6 d! g7 k, W* n1 k/ o& I4 l' O- @
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: / K9 k7 s7 U& B; W& S
3 X& O4 I* ]* `) bDuties: Special Events : w/ ~; Z7 y5 V/ X! ?
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ! N) I) H! H. v' J2 h
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
8 P0 I% e2 N, f2 \8 {3 g· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist . g* D4 @4 |3 a, @
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
6 H% L2 J% D, P, ]5 v# Eadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ( K8 K9 A$ ~ N& q+ c5 t2 L
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 6 D& i* h" i5 i+ L! c

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
5 x* V# R& A* c5 m2 e: o2 o- PAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
# F8 F! k) F" b% i· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
' T" |* |$ E+ I3 j% C· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers & M; O/ I; p/ d _; h* o: O$ O
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 9 A4 F, |9 n( c+ r8 Q6 _
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers - X) A; q/ u' b6 _
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications:
' N( J7 ?. ]! A" D1 b' ?& j· Completion of 12th
: [6 h7 k: m' |5 j& U) e) d# g4 z Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation & N: `& J" {( }& t9 a# }
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
6 s) N* D. V8 o/ f· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 6 J" }4 ^1 G) r+ P- W
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 2 B6 _1 E9 k( }* ]
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
. a# I" Z& l$ F6 d: L· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
* Q' I! V2 I* j· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
2 R4 q& z# U1 \: ~/ T· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training + Y H1 k2 i2 e( M/ ~) f. U1 T
· Security Clearance & K! q, E# Q; l! v

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work 0 F' B/ J x4 K F4 a

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
