Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 0 Q' x9 ]4 z( R
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: . z" Z3 j" n9 S* d3 p* A7 H

Duties: Special Events , Q. A; M) p4 n7 a( r0 l3 U+ g
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
: X3 D# r, [9 ?& d) @8 B· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
, P" p& `8 {# `* }7 x3 w" Y: ~% j· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist l' R$ c! }2 R, L0 Y* o* l
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
6 H+ z2 V& c( @4 n0 i: badvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 9 N. X& E$ b. s8 J: o) b
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. , V! Z- R' c1 [1 b* K! O8 r
· Attend and manage Special Events

0 J5 W' q4 w2 [; P6 U R6 K0 IAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 5 C- d/ [/ @/ G6 V" Y
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
3 d2 h. X$ T* ]8 ~· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
' m0 N; c! p! t# O· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 3 |( V; O0 e3 d7 n. L- m/ I
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 7 @+ ] H, M2 O3 h! X4 |! `
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: # ?4 U8 R. W- `6 z7 d
· Completion of 12th
2 Q0 A4 I0 h' }% F" g6 q, ?3 C Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation " I @' b& |+ i- ^ |+ n
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
, a- l6 t3 @) C, g, {2 ?· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
: O$ m, A8 x4 |8 C( D( D+ {' Texperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
/ R. |/ I, m d· Experience working with and managing volunteers
/ D8 \ |& O9 z' c+ d* I0 a· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors / Z" l+ D7 [/ j
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
: p9 g; A, i/ K· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
