Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 0 k4 ~9 g9 f" J; |
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 0 G& _$ ~, e5 M2 w% f' H! C( ]# u
8 H- a, Z$ q0 cDuties: Special Events
+ ], S' t' w5 ?Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
e& w# I7 V; l0 S% r# `· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ; D7 E* Z0 p4 _+ }# F6 u
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
6 ^7 H ^! l+ l& Nwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the : ]" M5 d; y* f
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
/ W8 N5 I# F: Oset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 5 k* e2 D% c8 z b/ }
· Attend and manage Special Events

, Y! S* g, c# k& _Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:

· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
. c0 c2 a( z9 _' _· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers 8 C0 a& Q. b) [5 d& S
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 5 l1 @: r" V+ S" ^: E" U/ b3 X; Z
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

' p: y0 r% t4 FQualifications:
0 R# u7 c- N5 r6 x; Z· Completion of 12th. Y* g& R' a" X$ E
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
; q. i& R) |! ]& gAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
; y0 ^& o0 g: C+ s. ?' b6 _& O2 X· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 3 m7 c# _! B/ r) c: Z
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events : E2 F; r5 x6 n: a( N
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ' o3 A" ^4 v! R6 u) N' {
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
5 X w5 N- z c( k$ T· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 0 ~/ W. U6 c9 g1 E- O
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training . {/ A" P! `* V& P0 a6 d1 E
· Security Clearance 2 ]+ S3 F/ u7 |5 k

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
