Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
R6 |; m2 r1 T7 h! `% S' HEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
/ W1 B* m4 ?& T" qPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
9 _! L* M: _6 D, l# M/ b. k/ n· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 9 g& ]) T: ?6 ^
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
$ M. F! l! a4 X8 m& c) T0 Swith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the / {1 [& r3 d7 A
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
# q: ^2 g1 F: ~% H' c3 pset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 9 u% {) v; ]7 o- u9 }6 z. H
· Attend and manage Special Events

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
( `5 S' |5 Y3 n· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions - C) O1 o& n- ^' N
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
+ X! {. P( r% \5 r2 s/ V; A& P4 N· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers . e+ u8 L$ H8 T: Y t$ m' {
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers / G$ H3 d K" e+ \ {$ O# j
· Complete program administration, statistics and records
! O" {* R# p' Q9 m! k' ]$ [' H2 i ; N2 F* h1 ?8 E' R( A/ B
Qualifications: ) d1 p( e* d: Y5 q+ r! G ]# ^
· Completion of 12th& \% ^. |( C W1 p2 j. L$ M
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation + z5 d/ C' M: }0 g. V! f& g8 `
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
2 I1 Z- z- J, j" G* G· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct . H4 U8 Y% X. x7 i
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events # M n3 @" Z ^4 o" l1 Q
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
7 m2 O, h8 [. T" {· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors }# |. A+ s6 f* z) C8 B# g
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
! Y; o- @% \* I0 z' B· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training + ]- ^5 T/ @. P6 L& h _8 c* q
· Security Clearance - V+ R5 T! E1 l! ~5 ^8 H" G5 o
