Duties
' W ]; Y+ U) A! s
& H! X+ _$ G# J7 t C * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
" N6 V1 H6 q3 N * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
9 z# |) f+ T p% W2 z v4 p * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
7 a. e, H, z9 m& K0 ] * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
) U$ k: M% q; v$ ?) R% n$ |, ~ * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations y7 _; J& l# O p
" u8 i* X7 x, s/ q9 ^Qualifications
4 Q' l- ]7 V) Q7 q1 n, c" c0 s
+ s" E' K- Q8 D- A! x * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred6 V! o/ u4 j' t
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
% O# L' v( X s$ W9 U" b * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers

* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset" j O& G. @; U" g- C- O% b
