Duties9 L0 d6 @4 h6 c; [* `; J. Z
+ _3 [ X4 k8 D * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
+ |( d$ S" ?) ? * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
- e# R1 n9 ~% Y' i9 h) V# I * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps. _9 w+ z4 @( q+ [$ e
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations
) _. d' [2 b) C * Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

Qualifications
& ]$ ~2 H; i: }4 p7 R+ }# f% ]2 a
8 h" a0 s* x x( d- w+ ]6 u& p! E * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
+ {/ }; Y% h( U8 @: _& \8 i * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
: j: v" p' ]5 k" t. x+ I * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers$ P7 n6 V! T# E1 j6 }. a
* WHMIS training
$ f& L: e/ Y5 b8 Z% Y1 K * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset5 R: S6 X1 ~1 B, {4 p' S* L( J( |" e
