请教:如何选购奶酪和牛油

超市里有许多品牌的奶酪和牛油,请问如何选购?怎样吃比较好?

说说英文名吧,奶酪是不是cheese?如果是的话,有几种吃法一是cheese片,做三明治时,夹在面包里吃,有一种是细条状的,可作比萨,还有一种是粉状的可把它加些开水煮成糊状然后浇在烤好的土豆上,也可把cheese粉散在煮熟的意大利通心粉上吃。还有一种小孩喜欢吃的(不到)20公分长的cheese棒,一包里有很多根,就当零食吃。如果你买回的是立方体或长方体的话,就自己动手切成需要的形状,好象有专门的工具卖,其实中国人聪明,就用菜刀也能解决问题。至于黄色与白色的区别我不太清楚。请其他同学补充。5 w. q. p/ z/ h8 o

1 m$ K3 }; ^  n8 y! s- S你说牛油是哪一种呀,在国内用于起火锅底料。这里是不是butter?如果是的话,分两种,一种叫butter(块状),一种叫margarine(塑料碗装的)就是人造黄油。在洋人的食谱里常用到,至于中国用法,据说butter可以用来作馒头,成为奶油馒头,margarine嘛,烤面包时用,可用面包机烤好切片面包后,再直接涂上,也可涂上后,用烤箱烤几钟。后者好象更好吃些,小心发胖!!6 ]2 o$ n- M3 |# U( S

至于选什么牌子,我的经验是凭主妇的直觉。

( w, {; e1 W% y. FCheddar or American cheese (yellow or white): for code sandwich, cubed small chunk of snack, burger or cheesy casserole (baking), the color doesn’t decide the flavor. The cover of the cheese should say: sharp; mild, which refer to the degree of the flavor.

9 G# H0 t  e$ u- W# D, I3 y# e" OMozzarella cheese (white, no yellow color): for pizza or Italian cooking; R5 V* U1 Q# U. H5 r

Swiss cheese (white, with holes): mostly for hot sandwich

Parmesan cheese (almost like powder): on top of dishes, mostly pasta.

Butter is a lot simpler:

/ s* Y( ^2 i2 ~' C0 Q/ N- zButter stick (regular or light): 1. for cooking (just like the oil we use) or baking (e.g. bread, cake, or casserole), 2. you can also use it for bread spread
9 p' {  K) ?& J( d- ]5 I+ yMargarine( soft butter): mainly or spread, on bread, corn…
% [: v3 `: E$ B' R" Y: Q/ Y, S5 ?, Y0 g( k/ S" _+ u/ }2 {/ P! u
Cream cheese: also for spread, mostly on bagels; sometimes used for some bakery too
