Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

; o2 _0 D6 q" uKey Responsibilities Include:
! }& n; J& d2 X! Z7 w$ j# Z& SActivity Planning and Daily Activity
0 \  o1 g) u& f; k- B: O•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
0 Y+ H( S8 j) Q* t" l•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
3 {+ F0 H- ~$ I8 A5 R•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
/ O* k, @" }. B2 {! P•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
0 E1 ]  X' g) a•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
( D1 b2 b2 E# o5 _6 e# k. F; k9 k- k5 g•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
# W  {9 g" L: M( R; c9 }•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources

•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
