Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff
) d* q& G3 u' B" W7 e( k(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Key Responsibilities Include:7 a' V1 W" |5 ~% J0 l; I) U
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
3 w2 r* g4 H9 D; }7 S* e• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.2 r& P+ o# p: V' X
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ' e" `. _& m, n; }+ g, [7 y
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
2 s& T8 R: Y7 |3 y+ [" b9 J• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.0 T, h! w | ^2 B% J$ s+ \
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.0 R6 N5 P7 C) M) B! z( B7 j" I( S
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.+ c+ M2 l/ S, K' n

The successful candidate will have:0 Z1 q/ P5 O" e! C
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting1 g5 v/ a& c' s# j; G! K
• Experience with children
) t$ H# X% e) h, ], n: N! O6 r• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
+ k( G. v) Y0 Z' W9 h+ V3 U• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.8 i. u5 a3 Q! `+ ?
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.5 i4 C" c% U. z6 ^1 E5 N& g
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources2 v* P0 H$ z* Y
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check / i. @7 j3 Q, r6 L& Q% t
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check ^) h$ Q- E# ~9 n+ a
