Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Key Responsibilities Include
8 u# b5 {8 k2 q/ Q: gActivity Planning and Daily Activity
. w7 [' V) q: y, u' @. j& T• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
# Q, j# Y& O6 O• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
- o; K$ Q" ^$ _% g. Q7 R* i. F# G3 G• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
( d( Y2 `( N5 z. S- P2 n• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
4 s/ h7 e( B2 _- j9 x; Q• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting" ]' K( Q. }2 v4 y& `
• Experience with children
; R8 `, q* u; l' \6 R# e• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
# U, f# ~0 S" w& j• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.3 R# X7 O) g; @$ S# t' d! X
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.' u; s& S7 v! y9 P! y+ p
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources7 E6 T8 R& Z$ X" Y9 A' [
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check ' s0 c9 b% N6 V* n* M
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
