Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Key Responsibilities Include
, [' M, N6 O: x3 \* T$ }6 TActivity Planning and Daily Activity; }; J6 z3 U1 B3 r, B5 S3 s
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
7 i, U G" y" Q• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. . c+ I9 f1 K( B! e
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 1 p# c( M4 z3 ?; Y& P7 {
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.$ G$ H8 a9 E6 P. V. Q3 S. C
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.4 ?! W3 e: V6 j: X+ t: K
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.1 o" i R8 p* `$ E2 V- h+ K9 {6 A! c
2 l+ d1 ]% M& Y4 |; DThe successful candidate will have:" [7 f% x0 U5 ^$ L
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
5 ? w6 l. ?/ [; W0 z; Y: r' H' v) w• Experience with children) F7 y& k3 s0 o( D
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
% n' v2 T* t h• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
: n0 v* M9 z) V \• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
: n& B5 Y8 u7 B8 d/ y• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources* i% n1 Z; y J3 n0 K
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
}! T( r. {" }& s, \ f• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 5 i4 G/ A( ^5 t h, a
