Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Key Responsibilities Include7 h& x) ^0 V4 x3 {7 G! v) P
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
4 X- \6 A9 H1 p5 m/ `+ g) G* |• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
2 _# ^9 F% c; ~5 X2 P" p• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. - z d, m" T. l
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, : i/ E9 @9 x% `
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants." [" l! y/ ]- W; ?
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.- U" b& J9 \9 t7 B# P2 J
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.- i6 R1 S1 ~- f. w g1 W2 I
2 C9 V7 W3 x+ p7 E, TThe successful candidate will have:
& D- A4 c& x% F% I3 S# w6 w* D8 `$ W• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting

+ f, Z/ |" f! ?5 R- {6 ?• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 4 W/ ?. I2 k1 s- Z
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring." z6 E$ O$ F+ g* Q/ J
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
