Responsibilities:
Responsible for the following key functions:
, B& C! ], B1 {9 Y, }$ Y; DPerforming product upgrade activities in the Production environment
$ `% \: `; J8 D6 n; _! C. k0 BParticipating in data migration and conversion initiatives
Performing changes to software configurations as requested by the customer
; n$ z4 j/ O$ l7 @" E) ?Performing  the analysis, design, development and review of production  scripts (datafixes, queries; ad hoc and production batch jobs - extract and update)
Troubleshooting production issues
+ i  S5 }- l7 n" i  ?, G, S) KParticipating in the development and documentation of standards and procedures for work performed by the Application Support team
4 R& g1 P& ?! j( C8 vMaintaining information required to support products after implementation (e.g., changes to customer contact information, changes to authorized approvers, etc.)
Providing technical and work management of 1 – 2 analysts on small projects
) M0 c0 H' j  _9 F6 b: NProviding application and environment training to other SSD Operations employees, primarily other Application Support Analysts and Customer Support Specialists
  f  H1 @, X8 ?4 `. x# l- IDeveloping tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Application Support team.
Work directly with clients, both internal and external to SSD.

9 m0 S  r2 f3 ?* }1 q7 n. HGeneral:
Diploma or certificate in the Computer Systems field plus 4 or more years of practical experience in application support and/or software development
  y# i$ q4 K$ u% aExperience using standard development and/or enhancement methodologies
( f5 X+ H0 ]  w( `) kDetail-oriented, strong analytical ability, exceptional trouble-shooting skills
2 k6 V1 ?! p9 s+ M0 GStrong organizational skills; must be able to juggle a number of complex tasks at once
5 J* Q' j& E9 h2 _/ V2 SStrong communication skills, both written and verbal as incumbent will be gathering requirements and presenting solutions to clients, both internal and external to SSD.
Technical:
. k( {, \1 U9 s. aRequired:
Experience supporting applications in a UNIX/ORACLE environment
Demonstrated experience with UNIX shell scripting and SQL/PL-SQL
Experience implementing, maintaining and supporting automated (cron) jobs in a UNIX environment
Strong SQL skills
Desirable:
Experience supporting applications that use:

Java
