Position: Enterprise Backup and SAN Solutions Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Specifically, this resource will be required to have experience in setting up, administrating, and managing very large industrial configurations (i.e., large number of servers and environments as well as multi-process servers).
Administration of production UNIX (AIX), Windows, and Linux server backups in a Dynamic Drive sharing environment.
Candidate must be experienced in designing and administering large numbers of standardized configurations and following ITIL standard administration processes.
/ W; g$ G& H' V0 K7 cMaintaining and implementing Enterprise Backup solutions in IBM SAN configurations, IBM SAN hardware and IBM Storage Manager Software.
6 N2 _+ ?/ G: T$ s3 P. rMaintain hardware relating to servers and tape libraries in a raised floor datacenter.
4 c8 f9 L' E1 _6 b$ TWorking with hardware and software vendor support personnel to efficiently resolve any issues with systems being maintained.
6 ]( E  s( h! \* S( OEnsuring all backups meet audit and SLA requirements. Archiving and recall backup reports for auditing purposes.
1 p- n2 R: U9 l1 ~+ h# XHelp implementing enterprise wide system monitoring tools to monitor production Windows and UNIX servers running a variety of crucial business applications.
' n6 C' s- n% ^5 G' j% N, J"MUST HAVE" SKILLS:
! r% y  o* p' hThorough knowledge of Windows operating system and familiar with various Unix flavors like AIX, Solaris, and Linux
0 a; g- g  n. j1 @/ g7 _/ kStrong IBM SAN configurations experience
Experience with enterprise tape backup solutions - backing up and restoring Solaris, Linux, AIX and Windows servers with both Oracle and SQL databases.
Experience with troubleshooting in large environments. 24 x 7 on call availability.
9 r) G* {! B; _" z8 bExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must be willing to travel to client site and must have ability to work in both United States and Canada.
' I9 O; Y# M7 s8 I6 ]5 S' A& v“NICE TO HAVE" SKILLS:
6 Z! s8 h9 C2 }- l8 A" ^+ nExperience with automatic tape library maintenance and operation.
8 R2 g3 H! l  r, m; ~- eBasic networking knowledge - such as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with routing on multiple network interfaces.
7 r5 D/ X4 `7 G' Z4 q+ [, m1 yExperience with Nagios or other system monitoring tools.
Bash or Korn shell scripting knowledge.
SAP, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle experience helpful
