動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.
( m# d. b8 g& \/ |/ W0 k4 n/ s我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。5 }# Z7 ?! b1 Y. U

. F( f6 C! y1 Q% ^- lThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.7 X8 S, c( U9 G! a

這男孩不過5、6歲。4 u0 Q+ U% Y1 _, M

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '8 _8 L, g/ H4 |' s
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』* e9 v; W& D# k& S3 D

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,1 {0 }( I/ J+ _7 F& r
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '' D* t$ r6 c, G1 J2 y% C
小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '' F' K3 \; b2 [, d( s
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」) Z! v. F$ M6 ?) o' b

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

" `  g5 ?9 P' r* {! P* @'It ' s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

2 q$ n% z* N2 r; b( x8 c0 \0 G! TI replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

6 o2 i/ P( v4 |, c  t% |/ cBut he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

His eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '2 S3 p1 \) P, o7 P; u3 j5 Z; Q- V

My heart nearly stopped.. j: U( o7 k. i; a; N, Z

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

  ]- i) i! f- D5 Q9 k  @: h% nThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '; y9 a7 X4 `8 Y/ ~

' I  y* t0 O3 s# ^; Y) _6 MThen he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '

  C4 B5 E( ]: h' D'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
9 U7 C- `$ d6 u' y4 J『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。" I: ^. o: h$ C& U+ n6 d

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '
' [  {* X2 ~5 ?) X- m6 w小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』$ |" y  ^, Y" u; Y) Q

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '! S0 W+ v7 o/ l  L  o7 M

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket., `9 C, M5 Z" t# i' o! N# P

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

5 a- c9 J9 V6 ~6 Q1 nThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young# }, ?4 }3 u4 C) |6 O6 r1 K
woman and a little girl.' q- M7 a& v5 i1 g, ?' o& x. \
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。7 j0 W+ q( P8 e7 ?* H

5 }, Q! q$ u2 s; U+ z/ b+ ?# Q& _& r: dThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical+ D: K1 B3 {6 [6 M( o: r1 F
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
% n3 O  i* d: Flife-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
1 i2 z+ c! M. o小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管1 p$ _% `- v7 Z5 c- z

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.0 K' y4 R  d) O0 g1 n1 V# v$ t8 W
碰到小男孩的二天之後,我看了報紙年輕少婦過世了。. @9 m: H6 r3 G. M

1 }. ], f9 s* J1 L, tI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
7 f; I5 t. ?5 G我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。' ^3 J& j$ [1 x% X+ I
3 b6 Q" v  y) \; D$ A$ R7 e' T
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.: J5 c" ^2 ?: F1 S7 u. t. W+ \
她在那裡,裝在棺木中,在她的手中握著一朵白玫瑰和小男孩的相片,娃娃則放置在她的胸口。

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
