FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 r( o# W s( b( e, B8 u
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; P0 R1 d' e: _! _( I3 F6 esupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

+ k6 |1 ^5 q8 }& l& V- N1 jand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& R$ [# }7 \; e( E6 Tresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
2 U5 E8 Y6 s8 D* Q3 jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

0 w+ f+ d8 V4 y2 o7 z& A6 KJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 5 I+ }* K7 Q$ r5 W
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 3 i; I& I1 x4 J$ s& e/ W- n" T
well as the script, magazine and book library. 6 ^* D% }; ]3 B' _ q6 w8 M

Duties:
) f4 P" @9 E( v! v9 i+ G- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
# v) H' q) X6 q& c% o- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
) _) S$ V4 [$ q. R0 A) m- Implement a catalogue template for future use . Q+ o1 ^/ L9 s5 W: i" L6 p: Q4 t& k7 |
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 ~; d6 P# n4 ] D) V) [: O. G
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 1 Z3 \$ p6 D% ~ z
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
6 \3 h5 ~8 k6 w u7 S$ H* m h- Strong organizational skills ; R4 O5 w9 d* t8 E
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- ?3 c/ }& B; a5 J8 D9 q- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
- m( J6 b7 M7 v; c. t* b- Strong team player abilities $ Y; m% k0 y, g( m. ?
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
