  r: l" d# @9 B( p& ]- I& HFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
4 p- |" d9 [: z  |whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
artists from Northern Alberta.

+ D) K! u( J! z7 DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 H6 r# j6 @/ z. ]1 kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- q4 z; F9 S( l# r- e4 oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

; Z$ d' Z# q5 q$ W$ z* v9 VJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
9 D3 s! a: ]$ gassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

, g$ ^9 W5 _' ]7 o2 b4 TDuties:
) Z; m" V. \3 ~9 R! L- Assist with research on acquisition grants
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 t7 u, M; w1 R4 I0 E* \8 C, ^' [: Z- Assist with equipment maintenance
7 f+ m, Z4 ?8 M  B8 @( Z+ m+ I- Assist with production logistics for programming events
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
3 v) ]' a3 y  R. @. e1 q# M- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
- Provide vacation relief

Details:

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
! W- P1 ~, k* T2 z! [$ z: {secondary training
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
+ `3 G: V6 W& x$ n% l2 p- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
) a* L6 ^5 [. o- L& h; F- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
* v/ d0 ^$ @+ H* D- Advance organizational and research skills
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
' v" t0 M! h& M& X% K- Strong team player abilities
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
