FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

/ b ?% s- ^, X5 {* [& N. EJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive e! Q1 A# r$ M' _. x; A. b
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ' _" @% Q: `3 x( [+ Z) t
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties: : N, y* h5 T5 X
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 7 d8 v9 |5 H0 Y& `& \4 I
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
( Y; {) e X! i. Z; Y( p: W- Assist with equipment maintenance
6 w$ ]7 r0 V" u- Assist with production logistics for programming events
7 I! ~1 W2 A* S! L- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
( D2 _3 U9 ?& H7 a8 u! p- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 5 i6 r, j6 u5 K4 n

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 8 z3 i' k6 c1 I- b/ b+ ^" z6 a- j
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) R' z& d5 d' y+ @0 N* Q) V0 J
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
( f" P0 Z" [- S( s( K8 j8 f% c- Advance organizational and research skills + ~- D: n, C, n, Z
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD ; ]7 h- Q6 d" I0 u8 Y# |6 ~' R( \ c5 e
- Strong team player abilities
