r: l" d# @9 B( p& ]- I& HFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

artists from Northern Alberta. . \% O: [! @! y: |7 r
+ D) K! u( J! z7 DFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
9 H6 r# j6 @/ z. ]1 kemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- q4 z; F9 S( l# r- e4 oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 9 n7 E" W- w3 W' e2 y2 ~
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and # }: a6 J, l! R+ c" U. E
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern B. Q' J9 P# {

; Z$ d' Z# q5 q$ W$ z* v9 VJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 8 Z) P$ X, e5 B! B& w e
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
9 D3 s! a: ]$ gassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

) Z; m" V. \3 ~9 R! L- Assist with research on acquisition grants $ W* G' K9 b' U6 t, m) [# O
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 t7 u, M; w1 R4 I0 E* \8 C, ^' [: Z- Assist with equipment maintenance
7 f+ m, Z4 ?8 M B8 @( Z+ m+ I- Assist with production logistics for programming events # p# u5 W) n: O0 k- K8 ]+ `6 G+ ~+ \
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff

- Provide vacation relief

- Length of position: 12 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

) a* L6 ^5 [. o- L& h; F- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
* v/ d0 ^$ @+ H* D- Advance organizational and research skills - a: [* H7 {4 ?
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
' v" t0 M! h& M& X% K- Strong team player abilities 0 b) m* U4 J O& x9 j# k
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors - {6 p! A' n6 A! |6 ]# _2 f/ e
