FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ' u- i& Z5 Z' L) ~5 v8 {
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 0 B% i9 [ w; t, }4 h a2 k+ z
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ' A# n- [" O: c: t
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 ~+ j) Y) a: V8 x! N: [+ uresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - R$ r: B" E3 h9 W9 W/ O
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

! C6 D" a, F& U& v0 I) r. C1 eJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 7 J, m r* t" _- v7 i
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 2 Z8 [! a8 Q: q1 N
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
$ ?6 N; ]# H' Y& R- Assist with research on acquisition grants
9 G" G. a Q4 f O ^6 F- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
1 \. p6 T% ?) p6 c- Assist with equipment maintenance }$ {5 n) ~6 a8 E& \
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 6 z% |0 q3 |) K7 R2 G0 H
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
: v' j3 Q; w8 _* d/ Q) v: U- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
& G s4 M6 m. g; m6 Q5 y- Provide vacation relief

secondary training
) G0 C& I$ D9 a# C: l2 P- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts # w# }2 H" O. ~' r
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
