whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 t% w; q3 v/ h4 J! D6 F
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 7 T6 |( J9 f; [/ @
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 v. O# D+ y8 x5 W3 ~* Wresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 4 G9 J$ Q& f3 K2 C" S# P
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
& I! @* W. [3 D0 W3 U+ F8 q# L% u) @assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

/ ]5 L9 S; `9 d* g: YDuties: 0 y- U* W7 H, O: N% j
- Assist with research on acquisition grants 0 y, Y% H# [3 A- C. P$ v+ J( g
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 3 L5 l0 D8 }5 Z7 k7 g: u
- Assist with equipment maintenance ! y1 f5 m/ n) q4 n( Q9 q
- Assist with production logistics for programming events ) b4 B( T d7 `( S+ H) Z) t0 [
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ! A) j" C: m, a3 M+ Y8 `3 T
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
! B" S* g9 l, e z: W" G; L8 [4 u! l- Provide vacation relief

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ! S& g; h) J$ P% k7 V
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- s7 r3 X4 t0 E* C9 R" N7 P1 @- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
$ G" W* g x3 `2 [, n5 F- Advance organizational and research skills
8 S5 p! k& g9 V9 A% E0 }- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
d! E* S, M" t- Strong team player abilities
