Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program
: U7 T+ w5 \- a) ?; f0 @) | (ages 6 to 15)
; A7 w" F& _9 i6 T2 J% K- Recruit children for summer programs8 \2 }3 A3 Z. \0 I& t
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
1 u) k4 x1 ` e4 [2 ?* K5 D- O- Record keeping
, c6 e' @; M- q- I1 D- Provide orientation for parents$ S5 i/ i0 A. ^- r$ c6 N
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
' F& F9 Q$ @. K$ _7 i7 |- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:2 `( ~9 f/ J+ ~% Y0 z/ M8 q
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education: h7 u/ p# O4 @0 @9 l& N+ s
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
$ x. A; \5 u+ {; l- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
0 ^ W! w" S$ O7 ?4 B5 h. {- s/ Z- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
' q! e4 i0 ]: R6 s& g- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
! p# h- T# q5 d& c9 x# G- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities& `$ D2 g3 T+ k$ E
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

8 P9 {2 U) W- C2 K; e" R8 ?- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:( u W3 f$ T$ U2 F
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) 6 k9 x& D" A+ ?
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
8 n" @0 L1 u9 J" e* Z- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
