Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program $ c$ [: p3 l! g8 a
(ages 6 to 15)
+ U% u& N3 U! ?- Recruit children for summer programs
, y0 R$ _% z1 D1 G9 I; _- Recruit volunteers for summer programs6 h) q& c+ n- q# G- c; _% g$ H
- Record keeping
@+ C1 M# h: G! z( d- Provide orientation for parents
: o: y( x, |5 h* f$ ~- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency7 x! Y3 L7 v* O* H9 j0 r
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

( m% Z# u# I2 y( g, n) GQualifications:
9 G' |) n) ~- F# C# ]& N3 T: O L% J- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education
+ `6 C0 y4 S W- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
$ K0 _: u: @4 |* A! B) Z) U$ Y- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills! d' A9 p/ g; H' R% i
- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities/ o. m k* u; A
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese9 d$ c8 p/ A; m
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities; t2 ]0 q1 Q! ?0 s' `( D/ p
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense# z" m. T* G* n- K0 Y) h+ y* [

Other Information:* h2 p( f* E- L/ P
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) ) P% U: J+ U$ g0 y" ?/ R( J
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)2 u0 U" ~) s2 n8 @ j
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
