Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

. D. j4 J O% V5 J* }" G0 L- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program 2 [0 l% A% P2 Q7 m2 R8 }
(ages 6 to 15) 3 a, u+ o' e0 C! g; K4 u
- Recruit children for summer programs
* z! d# ^1 d' ? v- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
! o( [# u9 P2 ]- T7 B- F3 p- Record keeping
& h- q. t" I5 Q+ w# Y- ~- Provide orientation for parents, i3 z5 E& \: G' W+ ^
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
7 o$ {' M+ z: m! R# N% k- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager' w, N2 Z8 U+ w$ m$ S% o+ e/ m2 q- [
9 N" `; ~7 r3 }9 Q, R3 ZQualifications:
o/ J5 i! C. J/ c; u2 P- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education
% W. Y: {# Z4 O8 _, Z& w- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children2 G# n. ~4 i, G0 v$ e& u) y
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills- P& U7 u9 M' U$ v
- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities* @ L% C9 l" r) v
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese) y M) O1 V% L; J2 { F! t
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities( l# O+ P0 P; a5 R) J
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision$ D( m7 m0 \6 t
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)( M; C1 q8 N- T. {% m8 J; Y
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense- G& w( r3 ?+ U" j4 x; z

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)

- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
