4 p" J% H' _# P" v$ O * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications( v8 W* }! D: O
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis3 y, ^# F. A/ t( P
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
4 {( Z' B5 a$ x8 X+ m' \! Y3 R * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 3 ^4 u7 V: @" W
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies- R) y; K& R8 z& U
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs" {. o! Z0 A' f
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment6 A1 Q* s: t' f5 Y- \4 x

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
- c- z' l+ }( @9 a) h! f * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
