* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications8 v s1 V, M, |" j; R# }6 v
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
0 p( P1 P2 y8 B1 Q& h * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
8 {6 S( \2 n8 e, A7 `8 f * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students x$ |! D1 i( z9 t% T0 L& k
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies8 V# m& Y) q7 ~& I" \
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs

Qualifications

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred C# e* Z4 Z1 h0 H3 {
