Duties' X; s& n% k' `+ k
. [: g+ v) Z) ^! t) } * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
) ?+ d7 i; Z( h+ Y; Y* ` * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
. v6 L& y$ L# s& z5 p * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
$ ], R4 y( R9 O6 o D" C * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
4 O/ l8 `% {6 C * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Q$ j" B, e6 k- T3 B * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
