* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications6 u. |/ T& d3 w* ~# C
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
# |" I- a6 m/ [7 V: |& f } * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance' E4 ^) ]' q+ Y% ~( u- `
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students ' h: [3 z0 _- F2 }# x7 z
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
