A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
" P7 ^* F* O1 r" q• Standard Child Care First Aid
% X1 y) E! x# y• WHMIS, o7 X( q: w' P- z3 q1 H8 t1 ?
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care# z: w6 S _6 O7 Z
• Components to improve communication skills
0 u6 |( D- {! ?1 s0 t• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search. |" B$ s% G+ v% y
• Practicum Placements, Z# l" F+ R$ M# `$ d6 e9 n" H
Eligibility Criteria
+ g+ ^3 x+ O9 x• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
. K$ y4 Y. A+ d0 ~3 S7 K4 \; ]of Canada d+ r& V) t4 x |
• have a Social Insurance Number3 e. {. @" m9 \- Q1 A6 p7 q1 |# r
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check# [. t/ Y( J6 F9 V
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent! {5 _# P& ~# j6 j9 n
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time- b, `+ A% ^8 {1 C E
program
$ L i; G- A' s) b0 D; B6 |Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet$ @9 g+ j7 ^" n2 J- k1 c
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
V( V+ e `2 b5 {$ c! H3 `/ L• be unemployed or underemployed.

• meet the financial eligibility criteria
