A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)& H9 u, F3 W$ f* M4 V) U
• Standard Child Care First Aid% c4 o8 H! ^7 N
• WHMIS
; E. V# Q6 L, T J% d• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
, E1 Y( B: o, U• Components to improve communication skills
$ Y! ^: F. ^- r+ J• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search R$ B" L n/ w1 r) {
• Practicum Placements1 }+ E2 I9 v* N& R
Eligibility Criteria
7 O: c5 X6 h8 S- N5 `9 M4 t1 f: ]• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
$ |1 f+ q7 G( s$ y! |+ g, ~7 Qof Canada6 O" r$ S3 s/ a, g, ?5 o% K
• have a Social Insurance Number
6 t; `0 a' P) ?3 R$ c• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check6 W' Z2 E$ J* v0 ~/ D) R
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
+ H/ l: y% o. S4 c1 N/ t• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time2 U' ]- w) }1 u1 i
program( F' p9 f. K# F7 g5 M# F4 p
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
6 @" E; J6 l% S! [$ A3 Sthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
9 \$ q7 C5 C; h$ q. q3 l9 w• be unemployed or underemployed.' D2 k' W8 x! z: K, n
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course/ `; k% ~2 [' `% t
