2 V3 P$ F+ D4 {Position Abstract: as Manager of Volunteer Development, you are committed to seeing that the mission/vision are actively pursued within the Volunteer program as it facilitates a variety of opportunities for groups/individuals to participate in The Mustard Seed's ministry. - F7 t/ n& ^: }! The Manager of Volunteer Development reports to the Director of Development & is responsible for the development/oversight of all volunteer recruitment, training, placement & equipping of staff for volunteer supervision/mentorship. & m9 W$ h3 x2 M/ v I0 e# Q. _
" y) a6 r8 b7 T( k. X7 DThe ideal candidate will have: had personal encounters with people living in poverty/demonstrates an ability to understand issues of the inner city. S/he is passionate about volunteers participating in ministry to the poor and can communicate with a diverse range of partners. Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and management is necessary and understanding non-profit management is desirable. * i4 O3 r( J# g! m" a2 ~

7 n2 Z% ~& R- _& ?* s6 `+ iYou will have strong communication skills/the ability to lead and build leaders and will possess a 'teachable spirit'. A capacity for creative problem solving, conflict resolution and equipping people are essential attributes. Basic computer skills required. The candidate must have the capacity to represent The Mustard Seed publicly. & {' L6 X! c; O& y* v

Key Qualifications: a Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent; proven track record in volunteer management; experience training volunteers and/or staff; a member, in good standing, of a local community of faith; willing to submit to and ability to pass an Enhanced Security clearance by Correctional Services Canada and an Employment Security Check.
