One male passenger fled from the vehicle before police arrived, and reports indicate a small white car was seen fleeing the scene after the shots were fired.

+ x' \7 f1 t6 ]1 s$ MMeanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

1 s8 U" h8 ]' Z L( YUpon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.0 f8 G; s; o0 C3 T6 S4 o
! E* C, V q9 y9 V. _He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

N( M+ C% L8 JA police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.9 l5 g+ s! q$ e ]' \; R) O& f
