Duties

    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
* z$ |$ X. s: m: ~1 _/ ^8 z    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
& R  F- F- k( f0 C0 n    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
/ O* V  V+ Z/ N8 T# M( y    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
( o' s( S' y* |4 X6 }) ^+ A3 {    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
: s) P& b6 ^) O# k    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director

    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
6 q* \" n! W. f2 e" {    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
. [3 J2 p, w$ }6 W9 e) e9 ~    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications
. O, X" u# [; K7 n" x3 q2 s- @( p
5 U' N# q1 C) X    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
1 w$ r! ^* E* V' o1 L& x: ]    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
: v, S4 J  g' g: C; D    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
8 G6 v* }, Q, R* S2 b: S9 E, T    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
