    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region; _" d' x/ T% v# d& L) S1 t& k( ^
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group1 R2 W5 V) T" \8 a% C5 L3 ~
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
  w& C# M0 c* R% [& c) `    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations7 h0 W, t6 O# Q
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
# N! I( n( y7 ~5 P$ A    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses# A" \' S! |7 _4 n
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth5 U; e- c4 I; X
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program; p7 O$ @' _( m
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment- u  J: B% p7 Q6 k7 c7 ?
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
& ?, u) n; \4 T. z9 G) a7 E    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
4 _% H' z: @( A2 A3 I! O! [5 R    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly. l& T5 H& m+ W7 i7 p
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
3 o- s- S" Q1 V' w: U  C    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools* }3 u. G$ \2 F2 L% u

1 u$ A+ R1 l& _- V( N( F7 V* V5 t5 C    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline- ~9 [. V0 d$ |/ ?
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
' M  b' l. r+ s6 Y$ H. c1 z    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
; R3 g3 P. `, |& ~2 L6 A( m, O    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs# m- T8 V* S4 U4 _
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community; U: T- S. S- v- u- h7 D0 ~
    * Fundraising skills an asset
) u+ K6 K/ K7 }# I  G    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills5 }7 @& E% @5 J! }& M: O! I  S
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
& v+ x. p. E3 s" d2 W9 R) z0 x    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
; L  e& f7 {: J5 X    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
