    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
8 m; k% n1 Q6 b* m( i; P- a4 c4 H    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
$ P* R  w: U* Y    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
* u! j7 d1 n3 i1 p4 \& k" c    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
9 e2 k- `2 z, l' n    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
8 Z/ l! i! B8 ~& Q7 l    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
  V1 L; M6 I. v+ _1 y$ R/ |0 _
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
! N6 Z  n7 M  N    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
1 f+ q% j: v' `/ e    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
, j6 p4 d' n- D4 k- w& U: S. g    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
9 O! O5 @( n7 @    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community

/ v  a9 \2 ?- _7 A) I7 c    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
