    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
+ F" H  N- a" W. ]' H0 J( I    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group: H6 m' A$ }0 T; b2 r# A- T
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
* n$ S# g: x  {5 ^    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations' ]$ j: l$ p# k0 `% {7 r! S
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
1 k3 U' k4 Z) U3 w3 y7 _    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses" i8 \1 H6 |/ F; b% {( G
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
3 z% L. h; \; L% v* Y. N- ^    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
8 Y  R" {6 h6 X& V6 z# x% L    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
2 h) z. J8 _. Z4 W    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports, u& I: }( q5 E
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
4 _" D" ~6 z* a2 z$ C; T+ a    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
* R/ S* e* o% t1 m    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications
+ n3 [7 V9 G9 }+ `2 P2 i+ ^3 D% ^6 ~' Z* `. r4 [
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
" i( E7 ?7 p5 |6 w. T% }    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth5 q0 L- G& m+ u- I" c7 @
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies4 \! J- A( o$ @! ?. ]! {; ?; L, d
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
, j& y$ @: N. j) P4 E' v: R    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community5 H: s6 _9 `( ^$ q  w4 `
    * Fundraising skills an asset: ]% s# c. w* u+ U5 Z
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills# A: t! F2 k. {; Y
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills1 Q4 V  ]! f0 T$ z
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills  h5 M* }2 P/ ^+ M# y9 g3 M, q
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
7 j2 ~+ t: J5 _" }# S3 U8 V    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
