% y! u: c: o2 F! Z    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
( e+ g4 L, p& J( }    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
9 O# p  n0 A( i1 R    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators5 V5 x( q0 ~7 ~3 u4 f
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
) o* x$ X- m* E, J    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
$ F7 F- }( t9 {9 \+ d    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses& B- j, U+ g" r% Y, X
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
+ [0 t: ^6 ]/ s3 }6 Z    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program: u8 s! Y/ S0 o. m- s
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
! a6 o' C" I0 f/ P, Z    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports) p1 P3 _9 v3 G1 j0 ?$ _
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs0 C. J( g, a9 e  y7 q
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly' [$ H# K7 ?' p3 z7 g
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
( H& \: p: [2 h  e% B    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications
* K$ L' z2 l& I# }7 _/ G/ V' N" U5 }3 h2 F* q. u! C
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
0 Z. U  C7 }- T3 q( `    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
6 S7 Y: ^- O0 w2 F4 I9 g    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
$ J1 D% }3 P/ z& Q. x, C    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs: w; l( l4 |% L. R8 I
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community, i3 k" I% A6 M" [+ I
    * Fundraising skills an asset2 P2 F4 }# ?5 P/ ~; o
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
# I0 }# s% S0 `* X* D) E    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills, @& [; c: f6 i( Q% d+ ~
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills0 I3 @" {7 V8 o% `
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills/ r7 `8 H: d4 @$ N% M7 `; p( i
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset4 `+ p* b8 y. S5 ~
