Position: Project Coordinator - Karibuni Project / Terms: 8 month, .6 fte position September 1, 2008 - June 30, 2008 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $23,344 - $32,544 per year, depending on education & experience + Full benefits and pension plan after 3 months / Hrs: 21 hours per week, flexible schedule / Closing Date: August 1, 2008 / Start Date: September 1, 2008.

Required: Excellent knowledge of intercultural communication, the immigrant experience, and racism in Canada; experience facilitating workshops in these areas / public-speaking; excellent writing & organizational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: Ability to speak French.

3 j8 w' h1 A0 vResponsibilities: Coordination of Karibuni project, under the direction of the executive director. This project is centered around the existing film entitled Karibuni, a documentary of the Franco-African immigrant experience in western Canada. An English sub-titled version of the film will be ready by Sept. 1. , K9 r. s) X) g8 f6 ?; M" E

Key Tasks: The coordinator will work with our professional development expert and a French-speaking consultant, to develop and deliver educational sessions in English based on the film, to appropriate groups across the country. - O# Z% m8 ]4 V
& y3 ~( f5 z4 V! {9 Q V% l0 ?( Q# k
This will involve finding appropriate groups for presentations & making travel arrangements. During the project a user-manual for the video will be created, designed, and printed. Position will involve extensive travel across Canada.
