Position: Project Coordinator - Karibuni Project / Terms: 8 month, .6 fte position September 1, 2008 - June 30, 2008 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $23,344 - $32,544 per year, depending on education & experience + Full benefits and pension plan after 3 months / Hrs: 21 hours per week, flexible schedule / Closing Date: August 1, 2008 / Start Date: September 1, 2008.

  w8 _& i; Z% ~, eNote: Possibility of position becoming full-time during the contract and of continuing beyond June 30, 2008, depending on funding.

Required: Excellent knowledge of intercultural communication, the immigrant experience, and racism in Canada; experience facilitating workshops in these areas / public-speaking; excellent writing & organizational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: Ability to speak French.

& g) k& Y( q% g/ p; V8 K$ `. A' iResponsibilities: Coordination of Karibuni project, under the direction of the executive director. This project is centered around the existing film entitled Karibuni, a documentary of the Franco-African immigrant experience in western Canada. An English sub-titled version of the film will be ready by Sept. 1.

Key Tasks: The coordinator will work with our professional development expert and a French-speaking consultant, to develop and deliver educational sessions in English based on the film, to appropriate groups across the country.

  t) A! ?) j9 nThis will involve finding appropriate groups for presentations & making travel arrangements. During the project a user-manual for the video will be created, designed, and printed. Position will involve extensive travel across Canada.
