EISA is a non-profit immigrant serving agency. Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries is a partnership of Settlement Agencies, School Boards, Public Libraries, Citizenship & Immigration Canada & other government levels.

In order to better help newcomer students and their families settle in their school/community, Citizenship & Immigration Canada, Settlement Agencies and School Boards intend to establish a school and Library based outreach program called Settlement Workers in Schools & Libraries (SWISL) in Edmonton, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. 8 a, n: @: p2 f# f+ v( ~

Key responsibilities: oversee the day-to-day activities/operations of the project; facilitate & support the planning & implementation of the SWISL Program; develop/deliver training and professional development for SWISL workers; develop resources for students, parents & SWISL workers.8 U" G3 v- d6 _# q2 D* \) r
% J" c- }6 Y' YPLUS: act as a resource and support for the SWISL project; promote the project and facilitate training, information sharing, problem-solving and networking between SWISL stakeholders in Edmonton and Northern Alberta.6 C6 j& N3 U- M4 J' d1 I: D% m7 s
2 S2 ^: C H( A0 \Key Qualifications: Post secondary education in a related field; excellent oral & written communication skills; experience in developing resources, delivery of training, facilitating meetings; knowledge of the settlement & education sectors; experience in program coordination; demonstrated computer skills in MS Excel, Access, internet & dBase management programs; work collaboratively with a variety of partners; preferably proficient in both English & French. 9 `9 e% M1 f6 k9 i
