* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis- B1 l6 U+ J( i3 ^
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
* u' \( W: T7 X4 A& J * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
+ y. R% w4 {6 \3 X) d * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client! E$ e7 t$ {" e
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
* G) x9 Q5 T ^$ J; E- b9 V * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
4 D6 m6 h/ E5 x2 w * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab: L. T" @& K" y0 A! J
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
$ C5 Q& `( i/ A * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications1 B H' D! z p# y# M) F

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred8 t: s, y9 i2 B7 [. b
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)7 v1 ]( l$ f( \5 a+ S/ X9 U
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
' `! P4 R7 r% _4 G' \ * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
