' {& I6 F* ^' ]8 r1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
* p/ o9 D- t4 z$ j' n• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department
8 n) m0 [- R& P. W• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals# l3 [0 G# B: z+ V* d
• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored
: q, C$ ^, x2 f, b" ?% v• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals( E+ `' k3 l$ p N% t
• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.

+ {9 {2 P6 F% u8 w+ Z+ L2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s); W" D% z0 x6 x- c
• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.
) F1 \1 f, K) \7 M2 j# u" V( ^# w# B& [; z# b8 h: ^3 i
3. Tracking System6 z; A# Q I& b6 { ^: N
• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s 9 V6 ~; C: j; j. g2 a
# P; ~$ X y& i0 r$ C, LCandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required. ( m* c" e9 j9 J' [' w

This is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.% u" I+ s- Q6 N3 {
