What activities will I do during my road test?

The road test is about 25 to 30 minutes long, including instructions and feedback.

Who is my Examiner?

· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.
: k/ Z2 o1 {% I· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training
' z4 P4 z6 X! P8 l& p! m) ~and Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road* z! E1 t+ O/ g
tests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the
: k* a4 w$ Z y# D+ Zroad test.1 c5 P. b8 n: o# r

What do I bring for my road test?) S+ i5 N# k7 i% R8 J

· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)4 l' a7 _* n& S: f; p
then you must also provide acceptable photo ID.% O- }" i; G- a& R, R1 o# w
· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the" g7 P) S7 d2 D9 j
weather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).6 s- D. Z8 x/ v6 x% N' g
· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid

demonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield+ ]; H" B4 u+ `. y8 O5 A
wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions

· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.# @2 l% G9 }# _! K! T* N8 D
You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not) ?/ r7 a! R0 \4 g [
stopping at a stop sign).

· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the7 w; ?$ ]& @2 s5 X, Z
Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any0 P4 b2 H. b4 N, _9 \
Alberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this
