The Lunar New Year Firecracker Parade, hosted by the Chinatown and Little Italy Business Association, takes place on Saturday.
8 O7 d0 @0 s2 n" S6 x: ^' `6 e! {- The festival kicks off at 11:30 a.m., with an opening ceremony outside the Pacific Rim Mall at 9700 105th. Ave. From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., lion dancers, dragon dancers and traditional Chinese musicians will move north along 97th Street, visiting shops and restaurants throughout Chinatown, setting off firecrackers. 4 @$ c- o$ G& S0 i2 _% G, Z
2 S2 J* W. B2 L9 w: E3 V- The Money God, who bears a striking resemblance to retired city councillor Michael Phair, will be there, handing out red envelopes to lucky children.
