Position title: Community Development Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. $ V% B! M, R2 L8 V

- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
5 T* B/ @3 R' k8 l2 t- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies3 i6 ]0 |8 t" h
- coordinate good will activities) _# R. P& I* O9 H/ E
- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc./ n0 w8 n9 u/ i- U
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

; G1 G! G$ ^+ s3 X: ~4 O- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education # {: P7 {" A. U6 E- V5 i% o5 A
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills P( ]/ Y6 R3 _2 K5 N* H
- experience in community work and immigrant services
