3 v& h" ^! h8 G9 tPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 7 t; O1 V' V9 L; @& s

3 X0 o( {# x& S7 _- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
$ R7 N4 F3 y" Z# X2 S- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
- Y& E; {2 i i4 t8 Y' Q$ i- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
/ e4 C2 T* j& b3 G8 M. T4 c- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies' q4 ?: p, Q8 N. J! D+ a
- coordinate good will activities

- prepare and send AGM information to members! Y. }* j0 H a, a! a" J. N
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.$ y$ ^$ B$ b8 x' \5 e7 v, s
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

7 q4 \8 u+ ]; p0 d% M. k- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre% J P7 @5 h, w! o
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- update membership database

Qualifications0 g2 ^' r+ l9 f1 _
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education , V) N6 d9 @" c( A3 B
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* K7 L: k) G; ?* J8 Z7 j- experience in community work and immigrant services: r6 O" a$ T8 X t! v, e1 V
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars2 r# {6 J8 n/ h4 h M
- leadership skills
