4 z8 L7 p$ U/ c: M, z" _' [Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 8 ?0 l0 l- P$ p' d! E6 h& t) O$ C

% x2 F0 V3 d5 Y7 s% _- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
& b! Z ~1 K5 b' A6 {4 ^- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services2 ~, t5 T2 y& j6 O% C% R- J& c
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services5 h, u1 b( g, `
- assist in writing proposal for ISP2 d- J. K/ u9 j$ G
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
& T, [' B% [/ j+ R9 {- explore new ideas for ISP . r/ I4 q% s9 l" l
- hold regular meetings with ISP team

- update membership database

4 a8 M& ^2 \4 m- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
) d2 o- \/ J0 h2 D5 n6 T& P- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" Y% [7 g1 g8 K& d4 G# f- experience in community work and immigrant services
$ L$ a2 Y. l) e+ f c- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars, Z0 Q4 p! t0 T$ B3 C& n( i
- leadership skills+ }2 y( m5 G5 U9 J! ~$ ]
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
