/ v' N o4 E/ l- M3 {Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community3 x3 j+ _% W* L) G- t
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
% v6 ?/ E5 B7 Q- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services' ^+ X* I, h) D9 v1 M H) x9 w
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
' P: _# w3 l" s" y* y$ z* G- submit information for community news
+ H( h' p6 K( e- prepare and send AGM information to members/ M/ {$ k3 m: ]/ W* p, w& j# C
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- m, v% S) w! x& |% w% B- assist in writing proposal for ISP
$ m0 l1 Y7 J8 x6 L& U A% j- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team4 Y+ [8 F" s5 F" l: q* G ^# K
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
1 c$ n+ r' _% |- |- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education . V( S& f% \6 B/ C( j7 z+ }
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills# c8 h5 l$ h5 [ J( `5 j
- experience in community work and immigrant services) ]+ v/ S& I* k! ?
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars6 h' }3 C6 E. Q/ `3 q/ U6 w0 }8 k1 A7 T
- leadership skills
