Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news
( S- `& `2 i. ^% q, q- provide volunteers to update membership database4 M. m- ~$ |: C* Y: a
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
. w* \: i7 p2 X& H2 U- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
3 r& e a U+ O# p: Y- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
+ @& p9 H" G" ^+ Y- provide volunteers for various programs ( e$ @. E( Y% L
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual; N8 l. L+ g1 n% w
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
5 u, G- P( B9 r$ t/ L V- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities. K; q k1 s0 N9 t
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services) _0 d, e- D* o* w4 |4 [' v* F3 d
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
# `9 J+ G5 T/ U$ ~- ?- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
& S3 G3 [7 [0 L. A+ J9 B- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed" R# @$ X3 v$ P0 O* I8 f: \
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)% V, x& v; g3 Y; ~
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events 4 L% g: p- p) C4 E4 B
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
0 Z; }. K7 \2 P; O: `9 ?9 M- v- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers . X) B9 M) G7 P) O1 K" A
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 8 i9 u- d$ z9 [* o' y2 L% ^) C; t
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

& n t- G; ^0 ]8 W- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

2 ~: F4 r8 i" @( d( NQualifications
* d6 E& t! K, F3 Z: m" T- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
) m3 u0 \; C+ A* |- good oral and written Chinese and English skills8 K; a: K5 f- {% f
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' N- ]. b) i( ?& i& r% E
- leadership skills
+ P {6 W6 ^' r' O4 w! n. }- management and supervision skills( W& Q/ m- N0 M1 M
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills' S5 ]5 ^: j# @4 ]" B
