Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news 6 Z2 ]6 r" T/ W; n3 R+ A
- provide volunteers to update membership database" f8 b0 O4 B% R0 Z
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers; V7 b: L2 h8 y5 ?) _! S
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
0 I. U e' s( h, d- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties: e# s/ K% f, Y$ o8 I! k' A
- provide volunteers for various programs
# \. }& y8 z1 O- A5 u- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual; D% {6 d5 ^3 M7 y
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation4 T3 `7 r2 _, P3 [& ?4 W
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
) L! }/ W( G: E- F8 m- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
/ r/ p1 [# [; h/ z- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports; r, ]& ~* [5 `1 i' |
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed) }# @, _0 o. ]+ Z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed8 o# w3 V2 a4 B2 x X4 J
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
: W! h" N5 [4 B% c9 r6 F. W) G) w- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % U+ h% ~. b/ K( _/ k
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
7 b h* Q3 X: S, R- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
" e! W; E( T! V' s- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers $ {7 p! |& m/ H" r, |
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis , D- ^5 g! N' o' X
- evaluations ( v8 Z& ]4 O8 d, z9 s
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre& i- u1 i6 S9 e9 n! I, U' a
7 G$ H. |5 d& J6 ?+ l# K" M4 wQualifications4 a9 J! N$ \, C4 S% A3 x, f0 g
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education# V) i Z- R2 @+ c, ]9 L3 i
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
& X) u" m1 [; K2 @- h- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services6 h9 R4 h. Q. k- c7 p
- leadership skills
) S8 S8 E0 I5 e2 T- management and supervision skills5 H3 x( t2 c: _ t- ^. n
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
