Key Responsibilities
: { P3 ?$ V; N3 {- submit information for community news
0 c# j0 p/ R, {4 Q( {3 L- provide volunteers to update membership database
7 ]* ~! }' i# }; _- C- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers! L6 a4 A) K1 z8 V1 H# P4 I* h$ L
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
$ l+ ]$ h3 w. g- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties. x& @, { T; W4 C u/ |
- provide volunteers for various programs
: s4 Z; I7 }% u& [3 T% M- y7 Q' ]& K- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
4 x5 ^9 D4 k9 O, X! M- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation4 l9 L- g, a1 U3 n
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
- z" @1 E6 j1 W- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services3 J' y/ k/ Q4 d: y& p5 i. n
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports P, T& D' m; S3 s H* R7 }
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
1 {" O5 `8 n' j/ M- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
. H ^+ _' s1 q- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# F- [6 p: n( N2 Y
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events . g" H) I4 C8 c8 F, z9 R% n* C1 F
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
4 c: L4 u" n! s# H+ ?' T- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
% ~; j3 i) c+ \2 T2 w* i- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
! ^: Q: {& P% P& T% M o- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
+ O1 o3 l. Y' D: d5 u- evaluations
+ q0 J4 ?) K/ M2 Y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education) ]3 t% c3 y: k2 a$ D" {$ \
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills9 C* X( [9 s- }$ C% F
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services W% Q$ N9 r( N) n* c8 C
- leadership skills
