Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
7 d/ `2 S9 X- H2 t# D- submit information for community news
6 Z6 U) I% S. W v+ f1 H$ N- provide volunteers to update membership database* a; w- }+ h5 |, D0 a. V3 F+ |
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
4 A5 z# H* q. K; b! n0 Y& P- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties! v8 {$ M2 u8 C6 W( z
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties6 k \& D) O1 K5 b
- provide volunteers for various programs
F0 F# }% w6 y3 Z+ t/ W0 x0 t5 z- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual6 {: W( z5 f* N9 i
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
6 k" D, n( I1 K8 F' J- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 i, x. M6 t" E& H3 p
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
6 \) u1 w2 ^& W. d2 B& l0 `- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
' O$ L# _3 v. [/ ^( X! ]- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed3 P' C+ t( F! P) Y* z
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
5 X( }/ B9 e: ]' F- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
3 F3 j9 H+ @& C! h- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
* v& v- n, B4 u! @, o# Y! g1 q- development and distribution of a volunteer manual M, J* g( _) F4 [, E$ b* x
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers & G& S. x: M: G
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers , D( a8 n/ G8 [% O
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
" r Y. h# n3 [! |& a+ f- evaluations + Z% }9 H/ _5 G" }& K
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre: |! i! @" |7 J" R% i' F

Qualifications7 T7 A, W4 z1 i, o1 Y% X+ k- W
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
; Z2 w: x0 Y S; Q; V v% x- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
' r' C/ o. _1 `3 T5 m! a- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
e. u! b% F+ Y" D# b- leadership skills3 e4 A6 A& p- |: O" J+ W1 V T
- management and supervision skills
