Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news # T( ~+ [# v$ D5 Y, v J: }
- provide volunteers to update membership database8 `2 O/ V8 \( s% ^
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
- l, w4 s' c# J- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
/ _0 G$ i, W a% t) j( _- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties( L/ D' J- } a: U" o7 q' J
- provide volunteers for various programs 8 X) a1 x- C2 Y8 g+ S( n
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual# z8 S1 s4 t- h" H. ~; g. u
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation2 b& x2 @4 ?/ b" [+ o
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities7 q; ]2 q% E) F3 `. n# w
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services1 M; K7 \! X+ ` @5 `) o1 j
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports. i6 `: v/ P( _: I9 w3 g
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed8 q& D0 Q, U( E: A/ J
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed8 `, O# } }# ~. N. M
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
1 m% V, \0 `8 g- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
2 o& [1 W9 P% K! l- ^+ J- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
( B2 M8 h( B" |# ~- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
) T# U8 f; g2 [: B: }9 C; Z* J; @0 Z- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers & }8 Y7 o) E+ s+ q0 }
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis I3 N4 E. Z8 f( G; d

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications6 `" n% ^" o7 N0 E
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
7 T6 X Q2 G, Z9 F- Q9 J8 s+ u- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" k E; ^" @) g! D# |1 T( q5 U
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services1 B& I& B( ]3 Z8 |6 |7 i
- leadership skills
