About background check

My case:

# o, p. ]: B' w5 l" O, `I sent an email to CIC buffalo yesterday inquiring about my case and got the reply:

) k$ z8 t% ^( w# F0 n+ \( j"We have requested background information from other government
$ |& _) m+ s' Loffices(s).  Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing
5 h+ n/ R- j( {7 O4 [4 K2 y+ Qof your application will be complete.  We cannot respond to requests for
the status of your application before this information is received."

Does this mean I am undergoing background check? Is it a normal BC and security background check(SBC)? Anybody has idea about how long it is gonna take? Thank you!

听说凡是粘军工边的都要被做背景调查.

不用太担心，他们的回复都是同一格式，不代表一定在作背景调查。我也收到过这样的回复，后来request了一个CAIPS NOTES，发现是不知为什么我老婆得Medical Examinaion的结果他们一直没收到。现在我们就要landing了。你也可以request一个CAIPS NOTES，看看到底是怎么回事。
