JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of - S" f9 K" @4 o, X) N
the Students' Union and oversees all electoral logistics as per Bylaw 5 ^, i! J% ~# i2 `! O
2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students' 5 {/ N# q' K) q
Council in the manner set out in the Council Administration Committee * r: P7 |; i9 p7 o% |' c; c
Standing Orders by April 15 and serve from May 1 to April 30 of the * w( x6 ?( P- d- C' G4 H
year following their appointment.

adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations ! s9 C+ E% c+ |" N

5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections

9 K) R+ X" j4 O, R! L$ d% _& u+ Bminimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday,

of voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

2 n) j# }) L. S' s2 F, P2 h g& n- \1 H11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during / h% Y6 p# `" D. n8 t+ N6 ~! q7 u

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report ( `0 l& r3 y- \
of activities and recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS:/ W1 W0 r W+ U( `
, P% _ O4 g8 Y1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course
; F9 v2 w! X/ v& e6 T7 N6 e3 dfor each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'
' Q9 C* }+ z4 ^* ~Union member.

3 l6 E B$ n6 d, A8 |3 D2) Must have some experience in student elections.; D/ {1 h0 K- U1 J: @% B0 G2 W# }

3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
: `6 b: C! P: n5 M5 ~any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position 8 J5 J' V% b g c% D; N( z

; s$ g1 H$ q9 D4) Willingness and ability to work varying hours.
