JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of

year following their appointment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 20004 E2 p. ] V5 d2 \+ d+ @

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing 1 Y# W7 G2 Z0 V3 \
adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations

7) To facilitate classroom speaking arrangements during an election/

To enforce budgetary regulations as stipulated in the Elections K9 e$ \. h- Q7 d
Bylaw 2000.

+ s, [& V6 W" J: v9 {minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, 3 K1 r- T) a* a9 L+ `
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day
0 [' H6 f5 m% Q) n1 ]1 kof voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.4 |# U* d, L* T b
5 F4 U5 o0 }* I/ o! {11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during
& ]8 l! Q5 l0 M2 z ^; Fthe course of an election/referendum.

13) To submit to Students' Council, prior to April 30, a final report

1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course ! c' {3 I! H X( T
for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'
, C5 F. I+ U0 e& }# j5 VUnion member.) s. y& ^* V% y8 G; _

2) Must have some experience in student elections.
, K) H% ?0 k& d7 \: N/ |8 e. ~* \# x/ {- r, @" i
3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
1 S9 i) ^4 o) ]" K! T- O! Xany of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position
