JOB SUMMARY: The Chief Returning Officer reports to the President of

1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 2000

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.3 S* D% I2 N7 h6 T

3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties." V, ^5 v) p3 }/ Z1 p8 [
8 o: l, h, [' G4 p$ d+ _/ N( g5 J4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing
. m9 P% R( _' aadequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations

5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/ 6 ~. ]% H3 H6 r5 \
referenda.

7) To facilitate classroom speaking arrangements during an election/

minimum of four (4) working hours a day, between Monday to Friday, 8 s v$ G0 U: H& h; d7 `( ^
from the first working day after nominations close until the last day
; s9 ~6 Y" D. w" fof voting. These hours are to be posted in advance.

11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during 3 d t" z% }8 k/ v

12) To ensure that a cost effective and accurate ballot counting * \4 }* c( y" L0 g4 L, b
process is in place.

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course " p& P$ P7 h ? j$ }
for each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'
: a1 o( P! s( m. S BUnion member.% K5 n5 q& |) x3 Q
' x* F) A1 V8 N; o& A3 {, N2) Must have some experience in student elections.

any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position
