Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management! e X+ ^! C# Q- K% _0 C
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
6 U) [& z5 d5 I- Y- j$ C( T9 k4 u cnon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED% q* U: ~- [0 _, w( h) N
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and8 m$ F- w) u' e+ r
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's7 @' w8 Y3 f6 t1 w; d
affairs at all times.

7 p. y0 _% ]# O f- R. SPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a9 D# r! A, h% G8 A B z W' ?
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative5 B3 d: V7 C& Y
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,+ D. T q! V4 L: w6 z6 a6 f: x
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
$ @4 M4 t; q Q; s! |for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures/ ^+ U* o6 X) `) r) N# h, C
to implement the organizational policies.

6 a% {6 n; }, _2 m- A1 a& GPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
$ C8 Z/ j+ k' ~! X) X# V- cas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
2 f L9 j( Y6 ^5 w/ \+ J* M8 V* xservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have7 l* m* G3 D& A
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission. / q) F' m, ], {& L
, i5 ~7 N+ z! q) |/ _In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the

the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure

payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups1 X* ^2 k' S6 o
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government" ?( W5 [. w o4 I1 R
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
- X, M4 m; K2 d! lorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
5 }/ ]. ]4 A rwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
) a& Z, u: \' W! _, E2 a! B" pmanaging projects and budgets.

, C- k+ x* v- ]PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
