Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
1 h! H" j6 S( Z* b( x8 z) {2 Gand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
/ C/ L8 c) a; k' [# ynon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta. The ED: }9 x0 M) K; r+ p1 G! U
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and9 G( V0 g" W( W
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
4 I& p" {! W+ Zaffairs at all times. M8 Z: h/ z* x" ~4 h# ]/ k; ~

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
2 c( j) x; W. Q% P! o3 c7 gvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative# @/ h6 C2 `% Z! A, x8 P4 v0 h
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,4 e1 B) s( p4 O$ Y( b. q9 I
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports- K9 U! O0 _# ]3 L2 g+ k
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
: \. a" F9 @- ^) gto implement the organizational policies.& d D; c. Y# q! l, C9 k
2 K. x& Y# G) b8 uPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
6 u9 R& Q3 N3 g6 U% e- Zas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
& [( Y! j; a1 k! v, Dservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have- M( M( A4 e% [0 c7 {
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission. 0 a$ D7 L3 X1 ~1 U1 k8 e% m& q

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the0 i( ^$ S' B3 I
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer

that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts

the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.# b3 G, N' y: Q6 X8 N
; X" l: D5 a5 dKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups# D1 t# }# N6 j ?% z
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
! t2 D& S4 T" H6 ]7 p9 h# S; Kpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
B6 s! O! v: U: u9 \. torganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
