ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,

' u) X3 c' A$ I1 P+ |1 z$ L) m% t" vPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
' k, c" i$ F5 N- rand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
( B9 P/ `* ^3 F1 kaffairs at all times.

9 o# _, r. f  UPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
5 F- z& D6 q$ S, Bmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
0 s; C& z/ U, }- Yfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
# W, _  j8 u5 J# R% Nservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
$ P1 J5 H( W8 V0 c8 qthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

  g$ n2 A- p5 L! QIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
5 q& d" g/ ^( v4 Zthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
6 `# Y7 ?$ p% Fthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
7 c3 P/ @, R2 C2 zpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
7 ]8 s  D& I- x" pincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
% x" i0 l5 ]0 a4 J5 R$ h& amanaging projects and budgets.

  c' z! w4 e; u& h1 d5 W! APLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
- l8 X. {) k5 j) xprocesses an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
! p  O$ Z- d! X9 L, n9 [1 [proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
