ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks

Position Responsibilities

/ v; I9 Z2 b% r* NCommunity Initiatives Documenter
9 z* G9 P4 M; a7 K" A# HThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

4 v, c% {  `2 ?8 n  j0 f. nEducation Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

Qualifications:
1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
; L; f2 t' t& Z& b/ ]4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
