ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Length: A maximum of 15 weeks

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Responsibilities

Community Initiatives Documenter
) Q  l6 ^# r$ Q; w$ i2 B1 C0 V1 [' e, CThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

) q( ~7 L0 Q) M" U& w4 X$ [! O" j& Z1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
/ e9 K5 |8 E# U) j) z8 S4 A9 H- V2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
) X( z; Y. p! ^, q! D, s2 e3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
) g: L5 L5 U, `/ N4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
