SERVER (RATT)

11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and  
Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
! L) E1 ?$ U9 F5 Q' {5 `) vBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
2 R$ g, Q1 E) }; vcustomer service and room cleanliness.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
5 V- I# Q. g" j8 f, H9 M5 ~orders.
/ U0 V, j2 f, Q7 y! P- l: r0 d% r  _
7 r7 ~% Z& Q$ M: W" M9 {0 U2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
& c! e% v# G* F) i+ K
4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
( [& ?+ ?$ f- @  K% hincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

. I3 v, F' P( F0 G8 N" R/ C3 S5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
( B% ]. \1 I" E7 jaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
& {' f' y, B+ g, b: Bintervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations

QUALIFICATIONS;
* {  F  f. d; }; K' R6 N, p1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
" @! k, m/ r8 T. Y* Y
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
+ \4 z1 K2 A4 x$ c
9 |  h( P: q, Y1 e. S. X5 h3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.

4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
card transactions.

1 `$ N' R% n- b9 X/ X+ ^5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
( ?, n  R2 G7 n4 L& sprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
