The University of Alberta - Centre for International Business Studies is
currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

; [* a+ C4 L0 i8 q3 y$ rHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
+ V3 T  }, m" R- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
3 S+ {" r$ k' b3 m/ }school year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
% I9 f4 ?3 w1 O4 `# t* KCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
etc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
7 d/ ]; [0 B0 q! J" jparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
. ~0 ~; l+ k) x& ~assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
: d/ s1 _9 e- q/ K8 }; houtings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
" [% L$ K8 S- a% ^1 kexcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
5 _  _! Q" a9 V* n) L2 ]- a/ \excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
- N6 _. \3 o& V/ Ksuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
7 O% o5 U2 L, s5 r7 F( [: s( \presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

Qualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
$ z' }6 p* h7 u. XCommerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
, g" S5 F+ y, [( kskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
