The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
; ]- U2 n2 T% S- H1 N9195.  

; b" f. C/ w/ U$ fSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

* C& I# v4 }# p1 T/ a3 EDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
; J" t3 `- g$ @7 s3 tfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
. y/ g+ f+ K, M, K6 H  s# I8 qinclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
9 M. D2 ~1 Y, h; V6 danalytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
# k) D, G" E3 y( T7 ^% [$ y+ B- v# Hseparations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
and chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
! m3 [& X  }6 a+ r6 [hope to work in these areas.
