The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
9195.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
3 g: S- t% C% i0 F2 x. ~for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
5 o  P- I8 t2 n& S4 D# I( Y4 m  ]9 q! finclude carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

$ n" h4 @+ |+ R2 j" ~" R. @+ C6 F* RQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
9 n0 g6 X7 C  m6 J! [% ^analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
  j. l" ^6 Q  t3 B8 |separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
+ P- A1 h9 h( y  r5 t' l$ H2 [: XThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
% j/ _+ q0 O' M9 a" Z! q( T; M* E& Y; band chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
