昨天Globe的爱城新闻说，市政府准备收取房屋买卖税，税率为房价的1%，税收将用于城市建设。温哥华等其他城市早就有此税。

我怎么听说政府正商议准备取消CAPITAL GAIN呢,怎么又要征收房屋买卖税,两税是一回事吗?哪个真哪个假呀?

因为有此提议，准备卖房的人都想赶在收税前把房卖掉以避免交此税。

EDMONTON - A proposed property-transfer tax would reduce affordability by boosting the cost of an average Edmonton house by $4,000, says the Edmonton Real Estate Board.

"This is a home-buying tax," EREB president Carolyn Pratt said Wednesday in a news release.

"It is patently unfair to ask home buyers to pay for municipal services which would benefit the entire city."

即使有税，如果需求仍旺盛，那么这部分费用就会转嫁到买房者身上，收10%的税，那么房价就会跟着涨10%...

这不是个平抑房价的好办法，倒象是政府趁火打劫...
