Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)
Employment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s
schedule should be reasonably flexible.

Job description
Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
weekend hours.
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
% v; B: g+ V! B9 e1 b: {lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
' n. N0 u$ T0 L) n/ D3 fcentre.
* n8 c/ L5 W; m. |% B& K: IThese responsibilities include:
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
7 I( w' n" i* k- Z. d' I-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
% S1 ?* y7 t* i6 x3 Bfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
3 a# W' }5 E7 |! Z7 [' x# ^- C-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
3 S, V7 W& T4 e- m  b0 Lclients’ files etc.
1 d9 V+ H/ {/ qStatement of Qualifications
. R! _, `0 N; {- o# `1 P& N2 NEducation:
' c. q# Y- T2 {. T9 o% V-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
. \9 O% \8 F5 s4 \7 @4 ]of education, training and /or experience.
/ E2 _- a; A% tKnowledge/Technical competencies:
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
( d$ e9 y2 P' n, ^* N% J-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
and Excel.
-Experience using and updating an information database.

Assets:
+ ?( Z& _: a( |2 r% |' v, h6 z! x-Experience in using MS Access.
% v- Z- _4 u. P7 G! U" {/ z-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

- R" z- S  z' i/ R4 _0 N-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
# Y( u& ~5 `4 d-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
