Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and0 T+ i! |; v- G' k2 Z- Y; V
weekend hours.
( \* z# y" ^ j8 z: NYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
1 A0 O' h' x3 B, l+ R. D7 Jlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
/ ` ^# v7 E0 {centre./ d, b- t( l( K7 \/ `/ \# |
These responsibilities include:( V+ r% \0 Q9 \. {, O6 ]( R
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.$ o9 V; R: s' G/ G. B8 t( I
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
9 V1 s% e% _# q% f4 R2 U-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
7 U* Q1 G/ o8 g. R$ Y& v) jrenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
, r/ G- r& _3 L3 }$ T( Tfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
3 P7 o9 M4 l) T0 N. E8 t-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic ( D8 V7 I* ^& F1 [" }8 B9 C

Education:
6 P' D& n& `" [# T# X) O8 N-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
8 ^8 A' I4 V+ o! X j# _education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
8 l! }5 e/ x$ F F: h( y# A- vof education, training and /or experience. 5 i, P9 `* ?% e: {
Knowledge/Technical competencies:+ t( [# A0 G& @4 L
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
% `) B' o( K7 g8 D-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
9 u3 t$ f! C& l3 w- A$ kand Excel. }$ |2 w; M5 I
-Experience using and updating an information database. ' ]% Z6 h, x# z) {

Assets:
& K& V" ?6 r J- p# N, A G' w-Experience in using MS Access.
! L( d: S! h# ] r. A1 F-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
