Location: Research Data Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)
Employment Tenure: Part-time/Causal (approximately 12 hours per week). The incumbent’s

: t+ p8 |; h" }: T; k5 c$ dStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
weekend hours.
- O$ Y9 t* O0 Y7 i: j8 S# OYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
1 ]4 m/ W% u/ W% ^* d+ y* p* o% x  alab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
centre.
! T6 \* o0 g! }' Z6 T' ?- IThese responsibilities include:
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic

Statement of Qualifications
* s4 |) B1 v# b# I/ lEducation:
, e% h3 V- a* C; m8 {- S  T* b-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
$ U% }7 Q2 K$ P% E$ jof education, training and /or experience.
9 B: S0 K  E$ d. d$ r! jKnowledge/Technical competencies:
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
  ^8 h# D& t# y- kand Excel.
7 g+ w* n9 v/ t# w; |1 i-Experience using and updating an information database.
: E' O+ ?1 [; c$ o  q8 K  \: z/ b+ ^
Assets:
6 N' z* ?1 P1 g8 _2 ~4 U-Experience in using MS Access.
( e% ^9 ~" c/ Y7 K: \* h" E3 p-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
+ I; S3 t, `! X. T0 r0 n% S-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
