Clarica was introduced in 1999 by Mutual life of Canada, and was acquired by Sun Life three years later.
3 t# }* \" \# iThere are almost two million Clarica policy- and accountholders in Canada, said Sun Life. Clarica also has a sales force of about 3,500.

The company said the changes will be completed by the first quarter of 2008. Sun Life will incur a $40-million to $50-million charge in the first quarter of 2007.7 ?' N& O* \3 r7 J d! V2 k' y
"The Sun Life name is also well known and highly respected in many other markets around the world," said Sun Life chief executive Don Stewart.
