If you are happy with 2-4%, I suggest standard GIC from any bank. Manulife advantage account is offering 3.75% per year for very short term (10 days etc.)& s: W# u0 y; | n5 A" ^3 [, E% O; H

For longer term with inestment protection, I would suggest Seg fund where it guarantees up to 100% of your investment on 15years or longer term. The guarantee moves up accordingly to the daily market high for few years and you can sell at anytime with no obligation. " `: I* R `' x \; ]+ u9 L1 ?4 n+ n2 U* N0 J# @! U
Or you can invest into Income funds that generates fixed income (slightly higher than GIC) or equities as accordingly to your risk. High risk, high return.5 R2 x. s1 J) a4 ]2 b V \
