Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me: 8 P* K1 s: q+ }1 h3 J) L
"I am going to send it back". ; R; E, u5 e H- d: k8 x& k
I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
& E- u- \% l. a "I am sorry, what are you sending back?" & l+ Z% k& \- t- e) Y
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." 5 V4 f, ]8 {& M& e$ [2 X
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"

: [* }+ T2 {+ g7 u. ~1 PFinally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post. W" o6 e; S/ r9 d: i
He took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. % c. W6 j" j' Q5 k1 P
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"
. v9 l( G: \0 X0 A7 D& u2 V"No, I am not. I do not do those things."
2 `! _* z6 K/ j; d$ P6 g: dHe took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside.
. Q7 X: z3 E2 B" Y2 t' ZI gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:

I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"* c- g1 v& s" U2 a1 N, E: ~5 N
He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home.") }" p3 |* a W( W5 s
My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. 8 h2 c, C* D+ G% Z0 b9 k. j }
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity.
