Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:

I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:4 T+ K* x3 X& J# ?" I
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?" ; c, O$ w. i8 c& v# [1 ^' O8 b
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage."
8 H% |5 g# D, |2 c. H& R% a"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"

e" [: f/ l( Q3 G" m' t" ZFinally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post. - |. Q$ P; W v) H/ D) A; }- q, {
He took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. $ z, h0 g: y, d9 v/ l! E
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?": z i5 y! y1 m( j: h) k
"No, I am not. I do not do those things."
' W1 x9 e. S$ k' [/ a3 v8 SHe took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside.
1 S& @! j+ n p7 `$ NI gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:

"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:" C7 t6 w: S1 o+ p

I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"

My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it.
