Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:

I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:# A, F1 u2 t5 \/ I" |
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?" + z& h; w7 @* H; t$ K# \, f6 f5 ]
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage."
6 f2 i) Y7 j ?& ^* K8 P6 I' \ l"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"

Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post. : _5 C: |/ [6 H5 k0 z6 | C) N! v
He took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. 6 K) K4 x# G% B; K k T6 ]- j
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?" }3 D' g6 U4 H% W
"No, I am not. I do not do those things."* n/ Y6 x! Y$ Y2 W* h4 P( o
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. e5 c% n% a+ q- `
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:/ R Y4 q* O) ?8 E
"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"& |( m; x. I* o- } ]6 a% d9 }4 C
"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:! J" m( O( o2 O5 u
"I do not have an address."

He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
+ r& T$ s ?$ d3 ]My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. # r1 @* }* A- m+ i O
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity.
