Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me: 4 D b: K* s7 M7 u! F
"I am going to send it back". 7 d: g% |5 X. B) I; z* z! Z* M
I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
9 n& g/ ~/ ` l9 e "I am sorry, what are you sending back?" ( a/ g8 N: w2 g9 n
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." . x8 D9 v. P# m' q4 T
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" / [: {1 J/ M2 f' |; @# q) P+ s9 o4 y
"Yes, I did."+ R: u m0 N# D. B& Y, w
Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
; R% A- H( U: r9 v' RHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet.
; v' M% \; ^ s/ |- o$ r5 ~* u* Q"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"3 C$ x! ^: o, U% W
"No, I am not. I do not do those things.": [! D4 T; R& [' z5 o3 C
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside.
" ~" D! i. Z) @4 k+ pI gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:

8 s7 j, h- O3 Q# h"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:

I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"
+ D* E# |$ N/ b/ ~; sHe did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."+ x% H8 m5 i5 v2 j0 k" @: ?
My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. " c! y/ D' S9 H$ R" t: {
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity. ( }7 y# M: ~. ~
