1 Q2 X9 O6 ~9 u3 w8 n　　A hundred leagues locked in ice,

- u6 O2 l! N6 \* i5 k& E　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

* @; }! s0 p/ s8 H  m　　Both sides of the Great Wall

. x/ p2 }/ Y9 A, P% A+ s4 J　　One single white immensity.

( d- o' {2 X7 S# X+ P/ F2 b5 N　　The Yellow River"s swift current
  }! E  ~5 q2 e+ m: y, T, S
2 S! Z8 l" z5 m5 n, o, ?　　Is stilled from end to end.

% j. G/ [2 A  ]5 m  `. s7 I　　The mountains dance like silver snakes

　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

( T% U2 V, }7 ^8 I. @' t2 Q- Q0 l　　Vying with heaven in stature.

- L# P, O0 A9 g　　On a fine day, the land,

5 |! p+ v; g, b* r" Y8 Z　　Clad in white, adorned in red,

5 v- L$ p6 l* s　　Grows more enchanting.

: b- C+ ?3 j5 i. V　　Has made countless heroes bow in homage.

　　Were lacking in literary grace,

　　And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu

& v0 @! v# H# k  ?0 c　　Had little poetry in their souls;
　　And Genghis Khan,
; T  x7 W/ B7 N$ @& N8 c" L
　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,
1 ?- W# @" |) Q) F' x
　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

　　All are past and gone!

+ D1 _. [( e. H- Z# U5 b　　Look to this age alone.
