Uppal also defends bill C-24, legislation that allows the government to strip citizenship from dual citizens convicted of terrorism or treason. He said when someone has been convicted and served their time of a charge as serious as terrorism it’s common sense to deport them.# @& X' D) ? I% w5 n# R
“If we can have their citizenship stripped, because they’re a dual citizen, than I would rather not have them in this country,” he said.' E+ U' h) C1 K+ W% i* o$ u; k" B

“People are really, really under fear and they want to see these changes,” he said.
