Conservative candidate Tim Uppal said his party has an excellent record on welcoming newcomers.

Uppal also defends bill C-24, legislation that allows the government to strip citizenship from dual citizens convicted of terrorism or treason. He said when someone has been convicted and served their time of a charge as serious as terrorism it’s common sense to deport them.; Y* i, V" i6 c3 v* L* o" C
“If we can have their citizenship stripped, because they’re a dual citizen, than I would rather not have them in this country,” he said.
