A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed

! w+ d+ {' j) B8 Z0 z: V8 Z! V2 m
His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
2 N/ Q, W3 K& g* b+ e: E; kAfter many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, 1 r0 b. W+ S m3 G, x1 l
he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

! y. H1 L! _/ bAs he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual

"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having

"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait."

"That doesn't have anything to do with it," he replied.

" Q0 Q8 e: \5 E4 I4 \* v"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my 3 w' v9 D2 Y/ `! R: m" f/ l
room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how

It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up.

6 C3 f Z3 }5 r0 aI have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I
2 S8 s2 ]5 g6 s( q7 P8 g0 khave with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new * i/ H$ H; Q5 F3 |9 T0 [0 o& m" X- F2 r
day and all the happy memories I've stored away.

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in. " _ J) S" c4 n& `

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank + Z' t" N0 e1 `+ `) i# L& _0 @2 E# o
