1 Tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch

1 cup (250 mL) cooking oil! o) i7 ]9 E3 e" s/ M
2 1/2 Tbsp (30 mL) oyster sauce
$ \1 D6 f2 c0 Q( x4 `, s: ]2 k5 }: k2 Tbsp (25 mL) light soy sauce. R/ P8 J) ?8 V$ i8 v A* F& H
3/4 Tbsp (10 mL) dark soy sauce' d" Q9 P& }4 r l/ O* J3 s, v
1 Tbsp (15 mL) sugar6 I& W1 V- i6 O% X5 D$ i& D( L( G
a few drops of sesame oil5 r' @+ R# e1 j; J1 V
2 cloves garlic, crushed
; m6 ^; Y: `. a* K4 }( J1/2 cup (125 mL) chicken broth( K: a4 g7 [! H0 g1 I
2 Tbsp cornstarch (if desired)5 Q3 C) r7 s& a

Slice beef and mix together marinade ingredients. Add marinade to beef and marinate for thirty minutes. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of oil to beef, mix in thoroughly, and marinate beef for another thirty minutes. While beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables.
' o+ Z- \2 s5 Z7 L* CHeat wok and add 1 cup of oil. When oil is ready, add beef and stir-fry until it is nearly cooked. Remove beef and set aside on a plate. Drain the wok and wipe clean with a paper towel.
4 }3 k! r9 e9 A$ M$ C/ y; F0 m7 zAdd 1/2 cup water to wok. Bring the water to a boil and add the broccoli. Cover and cook until broccoli is cooked through. Drain the wok.
1 ]) Q9 m3 _. d7 v/ A) LHeat wok and add oil (about 2 tablespoons). Add the garlic and stir-fry for about 1 minute. Add vegetables and beef and mix together. Make a well in the middle of the wok and add the sauce ingredients. Add cornstarch, stirring to thicken. Mix sauce together with other ingredients. Serve hot.
