According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.$ B0 I1 S- o# q: _7 ^; p
& @' ]$ t; [8 }2 F( a' QShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.; ^. A. j& R3 C
7 F2 Q$ B# U: M8 Q, ySearch efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.

* p$ Y' x, l/ M8 c" d5 X* \8 eA Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The names of the man and woman are not being made public by the RCMP.

/ G! r5 x7 Y7 | d8 i' g6 iRivers is located about 30 kilometres northwest of Brandon. It is near the Little Saskatchewan River, which enters the Rivers Reservoir, also known as Lake Wahtopanah.
