6 b# Y, q* {( f, cExcept as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall

(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor7 b; j9 c u$ _+ u4 X9 J( j
vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;

(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,

(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or
3 b9 {0 c+ Y m: ~+ f" W(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,0 e' g, c0 [7 ]& i3 F2 N
unless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;! R3 g* b8 {5 J7 E
(d) give or lend a financial8 M) N+ M+ c1 W* E
responsibility card or a copy of it2 A' m) \+ Y2 Z9 I
to a person not entitled to have that financial( i# T& }" P0 M

by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy

& N. }' [; G+ W+ I; K5 L) S. [A person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection" v9 {8 I8 u; z# Z
(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,
2 G! W$ T, L. p S8 j(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500
% V! C4 M& b/ N2 pand not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to8 Q e5 p' W, j- b. O3 T. J8 T1 u
imprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not4 I+ a! m \+ J: n" O& ~
more than 6 months
- \; Q% a9 G4 f3 eMinimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
