recall是什么意思？

我觉得recall就是汽车生产厂家把汽车召回重新处理和维修，但是具体怎样操作不是很清楚。
& f( w9 n7 J$ }1 K: u$ e1 w; H9 m6 `- U+ Q比如，2000年的Ford Focus有9个recalls，那么是不是市面上的2000年的Ford Focus车都经过了重新处理和维修啊，这9个安全隐患都消除了啊？
+ b! c* Q7 ^8 l; q会不会有的2000年的Ford Focus车没有经过处理和维修,还在路上跑啊？
