recall是什么意思？

我觉得recall就是汽车生产厂家把汽车召回重新处理和维修，但是具体怎样操作不是很清楚。
8 t9 Y: ~, ?. I6 U* T3 Z比如，2000年的Ford Focus有9个recalls，那么是不是市面上的2000年的Ford Focus车都经过了重新处理和维修啊，这9个安全隐患都消除了啊？
会不会有的2000年的Ford Focus车没有经过处理和维修,还在路上跑啊？

汽车方面声名狼藉的recalls有2个，一个是GM的Malibu，一个是Ford的Explorer SUV。
