! s* I+ u, j9 u/ |- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
4 \9 Z8 `1 M* Z1 }/ G" g- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements4 L. S' o# o, l3 C
- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines, ]9 R" y. v7 X1 K h
- Select type and size of pipe required
# @6 A. e! \0 e0 B; ^0 N5 Z( W- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
( M% E% l. D' A- m' @! {/ c- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system/ i8 n; K' t/ N R8 n' B& D
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems! q- E6 F& v- D$ j0 L1 d* T3 g
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment
) ~ H( Y, f; E4 n- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system

- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program, i( \0 C T# u

- Completion of secondary school5 x# x8 o" ~( M' L* i" N
- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation 7 h% v- l8 _/ e
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals/ _# h) ^( b7 W% t% e: t' c
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence# A6 Q, g, f8 H
- Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset: N6 v. ]1 A# O' B
- Safety tickets are considered an asset

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
