Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

/ D. Q! E* O2 f3 N9 ~6 w8 o; b% }Location: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.


5 u, v9 w- q' f2 wResponsibilities and Tasks

-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
; |4 q5 d5 }8 s& ?: Z  O/ b; j-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
/ U: M4 X" a, u) A, }2 v2 y- l5 d-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
' H+ S6 P9 m6 d1 Y# _+ P-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
+ F3 ]2 v- _3 w4 b-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

" }  a' g* Q7 ^Required Qualifications

) s  Q  S8 [$ n: Q& r$ q3 n-        Completion of secondary school
2 s* x$ ?! O0 V-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
& M; \& {$ D4 v) Z; x. X5 Y-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
, U, M' Z% ]: N) R; ]! \$ p-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
