9 j# S- X( D0 z. W5 F; l3 zResponsibilities and Tasks h7 Z! {) p/ {' K4 F) I5 T. t. E
- I& v: k7 A# J
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
4 I, d' S( g' |$ ]9 \7 r# t! ~- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
7 O, _* V F! N& h* c9 X- Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
/ l+ k- q o% }6 o, d- Select type and size of pipe required; i4 y- B9 A0 C% v
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools! x8 \' S' {9 H1 X2 A# }# S
- Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system$ [1 `9 a6 L3 K) ]: K# F
- Install supports, valves, piping and control systems; D. ]; i V. Y
- Test system for leaks using testing equipment3 u7 d# E0 W8 |
- Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system3 z9 N; W% }0 a
- Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system5 \2 }7 r7 o1 S+ p6 X" Z
- Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

- Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation ; {% v) T. D( n4 [4 E3 o
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
