Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

g0 q9 Q9 l8 qPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

. z! F6 m! `) a# x+ M6 ~% n• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
+ m9 i& {1 g6 n• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
) N/ m3 |: @# x6 Z0 H# ?• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
8 V4 F' }/ t, w8 A: |• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
/ e9 {1 F F1 c" e! [7 y# e! F• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents6 J1 B0 s' S8 q: t9 h: p
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker6 d% x- x9 O0 C' u( o
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events4 ^1 C* |$ q5 O6 o% d8 l
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

& d- G, e/ ?+ S( z6 O• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
?2 P" N( M& r" G• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
V; b" P; C3 S! K• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
0 h* t7 J' a) w• Good English writing and oral communication skills: j. l3 \/ \6 M
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients1 Y: g) ~ |& I& w
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook( w2 {+ ^8 L8 Z7 m
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
) f, a: S! G, S* z( {• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds+ H% }7 s( o) _+ Z0 H5 n- S: n0 J
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
! c: J- @' g4 K S8 g+ q• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment! o' C. i F2 X4 X( {
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
% C8 A4 u s1 x• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
